ABOUT BEN
Ben Lovett is a Two-Time Grammy Award winning musician who has been living between New York and London for the past decade. Outside of Ben’s work with his band, Mumford & Sons, he is a well-respected producer, entrepreneur and philanthropist.
This year marks the 13th year of a company he started in London called Communion, which is a multi-faceted music business promoting shows, releasing records and publishing songwriters. Communion is credited with helping the emergence and growth of some the world’s most famous contemporary artists including Ben Howard, Catfish and The Bottlemen, Gotye, James Bay, Daughter, Michael Kiwanuka, Bear’s Den and many more. Communion promotes arena level shows and has been an integral part of its artists selling millions of albums.
Ben has also produced and participated in a number of movie projects including We Wrote This Yesterday, Big Easy Express and also Austin To Boston, a documentary capturing the journey of 4 artists across America in vintage camper vans, which won many awards at international film festivals and was subsequently licensed to Netflix as part of their highly selective music curation.
In partnership with some of the Entertainment industry’s biggest names including the President of Live Nation New York, Anthony Makes, and the COO of Tennessee based AC Entertainment, Jesse Mann, Ben launched a neighborhood bar in Brooklyn in 2014 called Givers & Takers.
His network is very strong and only affirmed by his appointment to the boards of key New York establishments such as The Barclays Center Arena (he has subsequently been made Chairman of their UK division) and Soho House. It was through these endeavors that Ben’s passion for hospitality beyond entertainment, especially in Food & Beverage became real. It led to him launching a new business, Lovett Enterprises, in2015: specializing in both consultancy but also making investments and launching premium, ethical, entertainment and hospitality concepts.
Ben is also a public figurehead and advocate for Global Citizen, a New York based organization focused on helping deliver the eradication of absolute poverty across the World through the MDG goals. Alongside Mumford & Sons, Ben has also helped to raise funds and awareness for War Child which provides assistance to Children in Conflict Zones.
